WhatsApp has transformed the way we communicate. With ease of use being the biggest highlight, the messaging app has become one of the most used across the world. It's been over a decade since WhatsApp made it into our lives and it has only made it better by being the perfect communication platform for us.
However, along with the benefits this messaging and media sharing has to offer, it has some disadvantages too, privacy concerns, spam messages, and security issues to name a few.
To prevent the negatives, WhatsApp has options like blocking and reporting contacts to help you restrict certain users. Here is a quick guide on using these.
WhatsApp offers a blocking and reporting option to stop receiving messages, calls, and status updates from some contacts. There is also an option to report a contact in case of spammy and problematic content.

If you send a message to a contact who has blocked you and it shows a one-check mark, it means that the message was sent. If you don't get another check mark, it means that the message wasn't delivered. In this case, you will be able to see the old conversation you had with the user but you won't be able to send new messages.
While blocking and reporting options are available on WhatsApp for both iOS and Android, some features can be different like downloading images from the URLs, cropping videos, and playing voice notes from notifications are some options available only for iOS users.
